People Talk
People talk and suspect things
Theyre saying things about us
They insinuate, look, and smile
They watch and proclaim
Romance is blossoming
Not knowing our hearts, they know anyways
Not knowing our thoughts,
They tell
Others what were thinking
Maybe theyre right.
If the smile on my face matches
The smile on yours
Then they might be right
People watch and notice things
Theyre staring at us
They hint at things with their smiles, and keep looking
They scrutinize for three minutes and proclaim
Romance is blossoming
Not knowing our feelings, they feel our hearts beating
Unaware of our motives
They comprehend
All were doing
Maybe theyre right.
If you crawl out of silence
With that radiant smile
Then they might be right
Perhaps they know more than we do
By sheer ignorance
Or from experience
Perhaps because they know that when
People smile at each other during psalm sings
Or brush shoulders at movies
Sit together,
Walk together,
Talk, and laugh, and sometimes even blush together
Or beam happiness from simply not being alone
That that means something is different
I dont know
We dont know
Those outside say, Romance is blossoming
But we simply reply, Life is good.
We dont know;
Were just singing
And talking
Walking
Blushing
Laughing
And smiling, we cant stop smiling
Waiting for something to happen.
